Georgetown

Founded in 1859 during the Pike's Peak Gold Rush by George and David Griffith It was named "Georgetown" in honor of the older of the two brothers. Although founded during the gold rush, the town grew rapidly following the discovery of silver on September 14, 1864.Georgetown, Colorado offers a number of attractions from the Georgetown Loop Railroad, Hamill House, Hotel de Paris Museum, and Guanella Pass which is a Scenic and Historic Byway. Near town is the breathtaking Guanella Pass Scenic Byway, which at its 11,600-foot summit might leave you breathless

Georgetown is nestled in between some of the most majestic peaks in the State, which of course means endless trails to pedal & climb, slopes to ski, streams to fish, raft & paddle, They offer a variety of unique shops, boutiques, restaurants, and overnight accommodations owned by individuals who also enjoy this beautiful mountain setting.  This is a wonderful, small, victorian town with plenty to do and see, once the third-largest town in Colorado, Georgetown is now home to slightly more than 1,000 residents.
